Privacy Policy

    The short version: ParkFolio stores all your data locally on your device. We collect nothing. We share nothing. There are no accounts, no servers, and no tracking.
  

Information We Collect

We collect no personal information. ParkFolio does not require you to create an account or provide any personal data to use the app.

Data Storage

All data you enter — visit records, ratings, notes, and preferences — is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's standard local storage (UserDefaults). This data:

Never leaves your device
Is never transmitted to any server
Is not accessible to us or any third party
Can be deleted at any time by deleting the app

Location Data

ParkFolio can optionally use your device's location to sort nearby National Park Service locations and center the map on your position. Location data is:

Only accessed when you grant permission
Used exclusively on-device to calculate distances
Never stored, logged, or transmitted anywhere

You can revoke location access at any time in your iPhone's Settings.

Third-Party Services

ParkFolio does not integrate any analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or third-party SDKs that collect data. The app does use the following APIs solely to display images:

National Park Service API — official park imagery (nps.gov)
Unsplash — photographic fallback images
Wikimedia Commons — public domain imagery

These requests are standard HTTPS image fetches. No personal information is included in these requests.

Children's Privacy

ParkFolio does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Because we collect no data at all, this app is safe for users of all ages.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Any changes will be posted here.
